Kitchen & Bath Designer
OVERVIEW OF DUTIES:
The Kitchen/Bath Designer is responsible for producing the design, cabinet configuration, product specification, and the marketing of cabinets, hardware, plumbing fixtures and other products handled by our Hudson Street Design Showrooms for our consumer, contractor, and designer clients. All showroom sales producers are expected to maintain minimum levels of sales and gross profit volumes as established by management.
In addition to this overview of job duties, other assignments or job duties may be required.
SPECIFIC AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Must be familiar with kitchen and bath design trends – and able to incorporate them into attractive and efficient room layouts.
2. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and computerized point of sale operations. Must be able to determine appropriate product specifications and accurately input those specifications and pricing into our company computer system.
3. Must be familiar with design programs and vendor pricing systems and understand the general characteristics of competitive pricing in our local marketplace in order to effectively close sales to a wide variety of clientele.
4. Must be familiar with the wide variety of products and product lines in use today in the Kitchen/Bath industry.
5. Contact prospective customers by telephone and in person on a regular basis to solicit new business. Achieve monthly and quarterly customer prospecting objectives. Utilize Microsoft Dynamic or equivalent Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
6. Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all established customers in an effort to not only preserve but continually expand current levels of business sales volume.
7. Achieve at least a specified minimum sales volume and gross profit margin as established by management.
8. Complete product quotations to customers in an expeditious and accurate manner.
9. Process purchase orders and invoices in an expeditious and accurate manner.
10. Support the operation of HSD as needed, performing any and all sales tasks required by the HSD Showroom Manager.
11. Knowledgeable in building products and standard construction practices to assist and advise customers as requested.
12. Proficient in the use of all manufacturers design and pricing software used at HLC.
13. Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings to review current sales activity, new or potential prospects and new products.
14. Strive to improve and enhance personal selling skills through outside training, professional development books, videos, seminars and all in-house programs.
15. Attend vendor training and facility visits as needed to obtain sufficient product knowledge to sell and support all products on display in the showroom.
16. Attend training programs and receive certification from recognized organizations in areas of building materials, construction practices, sales, marketing and service.
17. Work in a safety conscious manner at all times. Follow all safety regulations and security guidelines. Actively contribute to work safety and security.
18. Maintain a safe, clean and pleasant work environment.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High School Diploma and some college level coursework.
2. Minimum 2 years experience in wholesale or retail building material sales.
3. Valid California Driver’s License
